Primrose pubescens "Kaleidoscope" (mixed colors) - Primula × pubescens.
A charming and elegant perennial, proudly awarded the “Award of Garden Merit” by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
This vibrant mix of the finest varieties forms lush clumps that bloom from spring to early summer.
The plant produces neat rosettes with velvety leaves and abundant fragrant flowers in a wide range of shades — from yellow and cream to rich red, violet-blue, and bicolor tones.
Features:
• Hardy, long-lived perennial (hardiness zones Z4–Z8).
• Notable for its resilience and abundant flowering.
• Ideal for borders, rock gardens, containers, and cutting.
• Blooms from April to June.
Characteristics:
Plant height with flowers: about 20 cm.
Growth habit: compact, rosette-forming.
Soil requirements: moist, fertile, well-drained.
Spacing: 20–25 cm.
Growing tips:
Sow seeds in April–May in trays. For even germination, keep containers for 7–10 days in a cool place (+10 °C), then 2–3 weeks at +16…+20 °C. Transplant seedlings to their permanent position in late summer. Flowers appear from March to June of the following year. Prefers moderately moist, humus-rich soil that doesn’t dry out in summer.
Uses: Perfect for rock gardens, borders, alpine slopes, containers, and decorative flowerbeds. Combines beautifully with hostas, geraniums, and other spring perennials.
1.0 g = approx. 4000 seeds.
